A fish bowl is a sure way to spruce up the corner of your desk or any small area in your home without a high maintenance aquatic set up. These make an inexpensive, dynamic piece of natural art. There is not much involved with keeping a pet fish in a bowl, all you need is the bowl, fish, water and food. Be sure to keep the water clean and change it when necessary.
There are only a few select fish that will thrive in a fish bowl. Two most common fish are goldfish and Beta fish. Other small fish like tetras will work also. Fish bowls are not large enough for most filtration systems, therefore limiting the amount of fish, no matter how small, you can keep in the bowl. Best suggestion is to have only one fish per bowl.
To make your fish bowl stylish and unique, an assortment of sizes and styles of plastic and glass bowls are available. If you're looking for something a little more colorful, look into decorative fish bowls. Aquarium gravel, rocks and plants will also make your bowl one of a kind.
