Pet bird supplies are useful for the care and health of birds. The most important supply is a bird cage which comes in many sizes depending on the size and amount of birds intended to live inside. Birds need enough space to hop and flap their wings, too small and they will become sedentary, silent and depressed. With enough room they will happily chirp and bounce around the cage.
Other pet bird supplies that are essential are a feeder and water supply. The feeder should be large enough for the bird to put their head into but not much else. Too big of an opening and the bird has the potential to enter the dish which has been known to cause broken necks. The other option is to have a feeder that is very large so they can move in and out unobstructed, but these may be messier.
Clean water is one of the most important pet bird supplies. Feeders should be able to hold water for a couple of days before having to be refilled and they should not drip into the interior of the cage. Most hang on the outside of the cage to allow for easy filling and have a metal ball on the nozzle that prevents drips. Bird swings and other toys are good supplies to get as well.
