Pet Reptiles.

So you want a pet, but you don’t want the same thing every neighbor has. You don’t even want something that could breed with what your neighbor has… even if you wanted it to, which you don’t. Or maybe you just want a pet that won’t make a lot of noise, and that you don’t have to worry about exercising. A pet reptile is just the thing for you if that’s the case.
Per reptiles are a far different pet keeping experience than a cat or a dog. They don’t need to be walked, they prefer their food live, and they are nearly silent most of the time. They are fascinating creatures to watch, almost alien in their behavior. And they can live for quite a long time.
Two popular pet reptiles are bearded dragons and ball pythons. Bearded dragons are small lizards, usually measuring 16-20 inches from nose to tail. They eat crickets, vegetables, and can eat baby mice if they are a large specimen. They can be quite good pets, living for 5-10 years in captivity. Ball pythons are a snake breed that grows to be about 4-5 feet long. They are a long lived pet; there have been examples of ball pythons living for over 40 years in captivity. They eat mice as adults, and only need to be fed about once a week. |
