Because reptiles can be classified as carnivore, herbivore, insectivore, or omnivore, the correct reptile food will depend on the particular species. Most reptile species are insectivores or carnivores. However, there are species that eat strictly vegetation; turtles being the most common example.
Crickets are the most common reptile food. Feeder crickets can be purchased from practically any pet store, including those online. Place a few live crickets into your reptile habitat and watch the hunt begin!
There are other types of live reptile food that are common. Mealworms, for example, are quite tasty treat for most lizards. Small fish are commonly fed to amphibians and water-born lizards.
